Coming Home (2022) took place on Bunurong and Boonwurrung Country as part of O_C_E_A_N, a keynote project presented in the inaugral Drift Arts Festival. Set on the clifftop of the back beach where most of the works were captured, this site-specific installation was Bri’s first exhibition.
All works were captured during a five week period of living alone in lockdown in 2020, within five kilometres of the artist’s home in Rye on the Mornington Peninsula.
Coming Home was an embodied exploration of solitude, through time spent in deep union with self, creativity and the ocean. Lead by presence and inspired by the duality of light and shadow, of fluidity and stability, Coming Home explored the human experience as part of the natural world, through interacting with the wisdom of the ocean.
